A Way to help our Children Bless Others
As parents we are responsible for teaching our children how to bless others. As the Thanksgiving Holiday nears, our children will be getting a vacation from their schools. Some will spend most of their time playing. Why not give them a constructive goal and have them sort through the items in their rooms which are no longer of interest to them or they have just out grown. Have them gather them up and put them in a box for the unfortunate children in the community. They may want to even sell the good toys at a yard sale and use the earnings to buy new toys for the unfortunate children in the community. It could become a real neighborhood event. On almost every local news broadcasts during the holiday seasons, we hear of places to take the toys so they can be distributed to the less forturnate children. If we teach our children at a young age to give, the giving process becomes a natural part of their lives and they grow up into giving adults. I know that we will all be busy during this time, but the things we teach our children now will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Not only will they be blessing another child, they will also be blessed.
